8 Easy and Simple Exercises for Your Face

Here are some simple face yoga exercises for your face that you do right here, right now, without any equipment. One thing that you will need, though, is a mirror. Face the mirror while performing exercises to make sure that you are doing the right thing. Also, dab a little moisturizer on to your face and some on your fingertips. This prevents your skin from tearing.

1. Begin with the Cheeks

You just need to smile. But, make sure that you smile as wide as you can. While doing this, you need to place your fingers on the top of your cheekbones. As you hold your smile, use your fingers to push down the cheekbones.

2. Exercise the Eyes

You need to close your eyes for this. Now, raise your eyebrows as much as you can. This step helps strengthen the muscles. Next, pull the muscles under your eyes as far as they can. It might seem tough in the beginning. Here, there is a caution – while performing this exercise, do not squint and keep your eyes wide.

3. Turn of Forehead

Place your fingers on the eyelids. Then, raise the eyebrows. You need to do this at least ten times for maximum effect. The role of fingers is to keep the eyelids in place. You can do it without your fingers too, once your eyes get used to stay in place.

4. Exercise for Your Lips

Ageing has an adverse effect on the lips too, especially the muscles around them. For exercising the lips, you need to wide open your mouth. Make the letter ‘o’ with your lips. You need to stay in this position for 3 seconds. Repeat. This needs to be done 10 times initially. You can increase the numbers when getting used to it.

5. Exercise for the Jawline

One of the first signs of ageing can be noticed near the jawline in the form of saggy skin. For this, you need to use your imagination. Pull the lower cheeks and the jawline away from the mouth. Now, keep the mouth open but only slightly. Next, pull your lower half of the face as if you are grinning. You should do this at least 10 times.

6. Nose Workout

For this, open your mouth slightly and then lift the top lip towards the nose. Initially, practice it with both sides. When you get used to it, do it only one at a time. After regular practice, you will find it easy to tackle one side at a time.

7. Double Chin

Close your mouth. Do not talk. You need to look at the ceiling. Make an ‘O’ with your mouth. Now, make an ‘E’. Repeat the letters for as many times as it is possible for you. However, ten times is good enough in the beginning. You will feel a stretch in the area around the chin and upper part of the neck.

8. Exercise for Your Neck

You need to look at the ceiling with your mouth closed. Put the lower lip over the top one. This needs some practice. While doing this, you also need to smile as wide as possible.

Post Facial Exercise

After performing the facial exercises, make sure that you stretch your mouth and then relax. Now, take a deep breath. Hold it for a couple of seconds and then relax. Moisturize your face again. Pinch your cheeks. This is good for blush-like red cheeks as it stimulates blood circulation in your face.
